Ofsted data recognises TACT’s success

Author: TACT Fostering

Earlier this month, Ofsted released their latest Children’s social care in England data set and we’re proud to see our success reflected in the findings.

In the year to end of March 2024, there were 11 outstanding judgements awarded in the voluntary independent fostering agencies (IFA) sector, three of which were for our services. This equates to 27% of these outstanding judgements being awarded to TACT services.

This is a significant achievement and is reflective of the excellent work that is taking place across the organisation.

It also highlights how well we are performing in comparison to the rest of the sector, with 42% of our services rated as outstanding, compared to just 21% of voluntary sector IFA’s overall achieving the highest rating from Ofsted.

In the past year these are some of the brilliant things Ofsted have said about our work and our teams:

Children’s lives are enriched by the love and care they receive from their foster carers. Children make exceptional progress as a result of the quality of care they experience.

The stability, attachment and longevity of fostering arrangements are a clear strength of this fostering agency. Children benefit from the good quality care that their foster carers provide. A child told the inspector: “I feel listened to, and I can speak openly and honestly.”

Children with additional and complex needs are cared for by skilled foster carers who understand and meet their individual needs. As a result, these children flourish.

TACT’s education support service provides a high quality of advice and oversight for children of all ages to ensure that their educational, training and employment needs are met.

TACT’s actions contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people.

Commenting on this, Andy Elvin, our CEO said: “I am enormously proud to lead a charity with such passionate, skilled and committed colleagues and foster carers. We aim to provide safe and stable homes built on love for all of our children and young people. It is a privilege to look after our wonderful children and young people, and their wellbeing and success is our core aim.”
