Job Title – Registered Service Manager - Fostering

Pay - £55,000 per annum + £1,500 per annum Out of Hours Allowance p.a. + £750 per annum Homeworking Allowance p.a. and £3,777 London Weighting (if eligible)

Hours - 35 Hours per Week

Contract - Permanent

Location – Homebased with travel required throughout Essex, Hertfordshire and East London

This exciting opportunity will enable an experienced social work manager to take a step up to the next level of responsibility. The successful candidate will bring fresh skills and knowledge to a friendly and effective team, contributing to the provision of services for to our families across the East of London, Essex and Hertfordshire. 

Reporting directly to the Director of Children's Services, the Registered Service Manager has responsibility for the smooth running of a staff team of Social Workers, Family Finder, Duty Social Workers, Consultants, Panel Members, Administration Team and Children’s and Young People's Resource Workers. The post holder will prioritise trauma informed and therapeutic methodologies and actively support and encourage diversity and inclusion within all aspects of the role.

The main role requirements for the Registered Area Manager Role includes:

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years post qualifying experience in fostering or in other childcare settings
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development
  • Experience of managing a diverse and experienced team, ideally remotely
  • Experience of group work and/or delivery of training
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and self-organise efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.
